Italian writer. He is author of narrative, theatre and non-fiction works. He published his first collection of stories, Clandestinità (Bollati Boringhieri 1993) at the age of 46 and continued publishing different works including La cipolla (Bollati Boringhieri, 1995), Lettere a nessuno (Bollati Boringhieri 1997), Gli esordi (Feltrinelli, 1998), Lo sbrego (Holden Maps – Rizzoli, 2005), Scritti di viaggio, di combattimento e di sogno (Fanucci, 2005), Zio Demostene. Vita di randagi (Effigie, 2005), Merda e luce (Effigie, 2007) and Canti del caos (Feltrinelli, Rizzoli and Mondadori). Also Gli incendiati (2010), La lucina (2013), Fiaba d’amore (2014) and Gli increati (2015) have been published by Mondadori.
In November 2001 he organized with Dario Voltolini a meeting-comparison between writers and intellectuals entitled Scrivere sul fronte occidentale and they edited also the homonymous anthology (Feltrinelli, 2002). In 2003 he was one of the founders of the collective blog Nazione Indiana (he got the idea of the name) that he left with other members in 2005 to start the electronic and paper magazine “Il primo amore”
